We’ve introduced a small but useful update to improve how you browse and customize the Bondfish Screener. A new Zero-coupon bond filter now lets you decide whether to include this type of bond in your search results.

More control over search results

By default, zero-coupon bonds are hidden in the Screener to keep the main view focused on standard coupon-paying instruments. When you enable the new filter, these bonds will appear alongside other issues, expanding the full list of available results.

What are zero-coupon bonds?

Zero-coupon bonds are issued at a discount and repaid at full face value at maturity. They do not pay periodic interest — instead, the investor’s return comes from the difference between the purchase price and the redemption amount.

Example: a 5-year zero-coupon bond purchased for €800 and redeemed at €1,000 will generate €200 of income at maturity, equal to an annualized return of about 5%: (€1,000 – €800) / €800 / 5.

How to access

The Zero Coupon filter can be found in the «Show Special Bonds» section of the Screener. Clicking this option will include zero-coupon instruments in your bond list.
